Five Things I Think This Weak

  1. Something is wrong when a pregnant lady can compete in Olympic Curling yet they cancel Girls Softball, a real athletic sport that requires competition and athleticism from the Summer Games   Isn’t curling an activity?  Not a sport!  Weird!
  2. Brian Jay Cline has the best song hooks no one has every heard of.  His music is timeless, catchy, and upbeat while being thoughtful.
  3. I used TurboTax.com to file my daughters tax return.  I found it extremely easy to use. While the ridiculous US tax is complex and fundamentally flawed in that it requires people to volunteer their info, TurboTax.com does a great job of organizing it to make it as easy as possible.  Also, my daughter earned about the same as last year yet her tax went down by 30%.  So much for that GOP Joe the Plumber claim that Obama will cost average Americans.  Not here, not on this end!  Fear mongering is always fun to watch but its’ so dangerous when done by people who can influence.
  4. Had a friend in India who works as a php coder tell me that PayPal cut India off at the knees by stopping all money sends to India.   This guy is a normal worker with no axe to grind.  Yet, he’s put out by this global shut down.  Now, he is going to set up an LLC in Nevada, get a USA Bank Account, a Tax ID number, and then get a new PayPal account.   Then, when profits are made, he merely uses his ATM in India to take out the cash and live.  It’s the classic work around.  Is this a conspiracy by Obama and Corporate America?  Should we launch an investigation or is this just PayPal trying to lose 1.1 billion potential customers?
  5. Bloom Energy released its BLOOM BOX this week to the world and I am hoping this is a real winner.  Imagine a small box that runs your whole home on electricity without being on the grid.  Even if they don’t get it right today, this could be something big in the next 10 years.
