WE’RE ALL HUMAN BEINGS, song dedicated to the Gaza Flotilla Peace Peoples

Inspired by the fate of the Gaza Flotilla as Israel attacked the Mavi Marmara Rachel Corrie peace ship on it’s way to provide aid to the needy in the occupied and oppressed prison camp that is the Gaza strip, Johnny Punish rips open a wound and exposes it the antiseptic light.  Exposed and without cover, Johnny Punish declares that “We’re All Human Beings” where peace, freedom and justice for all means just that, for all, and not just the chosen few.

We’re All Human Beings (2010)

Written and Performed by Johnny Punish.  Produced by Johnny Punish, Dan Cordero, and David Cordero

Coexist - We're All Human Beings - Johnny PunishWe must be careful what we project
The law of attraction is always in check
Bringing us what we think
Extremists at the gate hey don’t blink
Cause what we think is what we bring
When we kiss the lies on a radical ring
And we think murder is moral thing
It only makes us forget…..

That we’re all Human Beings
We’re all Human Beings
We’re all Human Beings
We’re all Human Beings

When we can’t condemn an attack on the sea
On protestors just like you and me
Cause a talking head will say on TV
That the bad guy is the man on his knees

So the shipmates defend with sticks and stones
While the pirates shoot with bullets on bones
And the death toll rises while we go home
It only makes us forget

That we’re all Human Beings
We’re all Human Beings
We’re all Human Beings
CoexistWe’re all Human Beings

Madison Avenue overdrive
Lobbyists pay to tell the lies
Beltway people speak nothing but jive
While taxpayers try to stay alive

And the shipmates defend with sticks and stones
Where’s my president get him on the phone
And the death toll rises and he’s not home
It only makes us forget

That we’re all Human Beings
We’re all Human Beings
We’re all Human Beings
We’re all Human Beings

  1. Johnny Punish says:

Dan, yeah I used to be a punk, a punk rocker! Like you, many fans would yell “FUCK JOHNNY PUNISH” when we rocked out. Most of the time, when I flipped them off as a response, they would retort back with a “Right On Johnny” or a “Thumbs Up”.

So in the grand tradition of punk rock, please accept my endearing ‘FUCK OFF” with a polite and caring “ONE FINGER UP” as a punk rock way to break bread with your rude boy ass. Remember, you too are a Human Being. So next time, might I suggest that you try civility! It’s contagious and somehow confirms that we’re in the same tribe!
